Casting slug found in the head floating around after 59 years. Just thought I would let everyone know that I found what appears to be a slug from when the head was cast, the only thing I can figure is that it must have been punched out when they tapped the NPT for the thermostat sensor or the heater hose nipple. I just wondered if anyone else has ever found one in there L-head or not .And if you have your head removed you may want to shake it a little bit and see if you have one loose rolling around also. yeah I saw something like that in my engine head in the rear of it down in the pipe plug hole. The head was already on the engine. I couln't shake it around to get it out. I don't recall if I tried a magnet or not to fish it out. I figured it wasn't hurting anything.
