Most say "FORMULATED FOR TODAY'S ENGINES" so and so on....
This may sound dumb but are "TODAY'S" formulations so much different
than 'YESTERDAY'S" and are there any unintended consequences?Any thoughts or experiences??

I believe most of the difference is additional anti-corrosion additives for engines with aluminum blocks and heads.
