Hi, everyone. I have a really nice 1951 M38 that I have spent lots of $$ making look and run great. BUT, it is plagued with the infamous "death wobble." I live in south Florida (Palm Beach Gardens) and would really like to find a local mechanic who can make this problem go away. Any leads would be appreciated. I would like to sell this fine vehicle to someone who will enjoy it more than me, but it's hard to do with this problem. Thanks!

While doing a bit of web site maintenance I noticed this older technical help post lying in our " Photo Posting & Gallery requests/problems" forum page. So I moved it here in hopes that if she still wobbles he can get some help.

Since you're in Florida I suggest you call Rob at Military Vehicle Web.com. He recently moved his business from Michigan to Florida and is a broker for MVs. He could sell it for you or get it fixed for you. His number is (810) 691-7693

Have you tried a TightSteer Tensioner on the steering box? Do a google search for Tightsteer.

Tightsteer is a band aid for bigger problems. I suggest fixing what is wrong not increasing internal wear rates by installing this bad aid.

Another band aid often employed is the shock absorber type steering dampers.

Again it's a lot cheaper to just fix the problem.
