In an earlier reply to a similar post Wes noted the front diff gets much less use so the oil retains its viscosity longer than the rest diff.

I bought a speedo cable a while back. Reasonable.
I’ll try and figure out who the vendor was.

Make sure you have the right pins in the cable so they match the gear and speedo.

And do yourself a favor and make those wood dowels. It makes rebuilding incredibly easy.
