Ok, all understood. I'll be careful with the sealant, that's for sure.
What about the crankshaft oil seal in the timing cover? Does it need sealant to keep it leakproof? I can't find any text about ... |

I made the gaskets out of .020 (0.5 mm) paper which was a little bit thicker than the original one.
Maybe it is better to skip these two gaskets to avoid the bell housing problem? I don't have any ... |

I did not have the two smaller brackets on my M38, and also was not aware that they existed. Thanks to Wesk, I learned about them and was able to get them from Midwest. The longer bracket has a rubber ... |

It makes sense that the bracket has the rubber vulcanized at the factory and that the rubber is not available as a separate item.

They have come out a bit wider than .080 after grinding so I think I'm rather within the limits .093-.125.
I have a 20 and 70 degree grinder so I can adjust the width if I want. ... |
