Bill,
The M38 ORD 9 1956 has an excellent breakdown of every part and lists all the Ramsey part numbers. It also gives sizes for most bushings and shafts and gear tooth counts. You should be able to get most parts from Ramsey still. Some may be shared with the civvy 200 winch.

I did try him he says he has the parts but I need to give him measurements of my old parts, which for the bearing is next to impossible. since they are both blown apart.

Merl has a very good web site for both the civilian Ramsey winch line and the Dauntless V6 engine.

My hanger bearing is an original which came with my 50R winch. Before I mounted my winch setup on my M38. I cleaned up the brass hanger bearing with the wire wheel and sprayed it with clear spraypaint to keep the brass looking new.

Ok looking at my winch, not only does the data plate say 5000lbs instead of 3500lbs but from pictures of other winches I have seen the plate is on the wrong side of the housing. The plate is on the input side of the winch, facing the grill. There are no holes where a plate would have been in the front of the winch. Anyone have any ideas? I always seem to end up with the old ball parts/jeep

The resto of the winch continues, got all the parts back from the machine shop and they look and fit great. I have been cleaning the case as well. Today I am going to try to find a seal for it at napa. I have ordered just about everything else I need from ramsey.

The winch is coming along nicely. I have some of it back together. I am just waiting for my new seals and bearings from ramsey, and a seal I ordered from a local parts store. I will then have the new bearings pressed in. This poor winch has seen a hard life. Some of the holes for the bolts that for the mount needed some work but I have it all fixed now. Hopefully next weekend the winch itself will be back together. I am just waiting for the mount so I can put it in my jeep. I will take pics when I have it all back together.

I have the winch all back together now. Just waiting on the mount so I can put it in the jeep. This poor winch was pretty tired but now looks good. Never mind the mess in the back ground.

I installed the winch on the jeep today. My poor winch had a hard life, the drum is a little miss-shaped and someone at some point had drilled and tapped some for mounting holes to 7/16, so it was a bit of a bear to mount. However it is now one the jeep. Waiting to get the pto, hanger bearing, and drive shafts.

Getting closer on my complete winch set up. I received a Ramsey 105 pto today. I also have a line on a 2nd one, so I might have one for sale when I receive the other one.

Kind of nice when it all starts to come together.
