I purchased a water pump from Kaiser Willys shop and want to report a couple of issues with the thing. First, the pulley was not pressed on far enough. As I received it, the pulley's face and the end of the shaft were flush. This set the grooves in the pulley too far away from the block to align with the crankshaft pulley. I remedied this by taking the pump back off the engine, taking it to a machine shop where I had the pulley pressed on further such that about 1/4" of the shaft is protruding from the front of the pulley. Secondly, the grooves in the pulley are too close together. While the crankshaft and alternator pullies have grooves approximately 3/16" apart the water pump pulley's grooves are only about an 1/8" apart. The only cure for this would be to digress to a single belt or change out the water pump pulley. I'm still debating.....but will probably buy a new pulley. Just an fyi for anyone else considering the purchase of a new water pump.
