Does anyone know if the lunette bracket for a 1/4 ton trailer is still an item one can find...and where? Has anyone ever attempted to fabricate one? Also.....are the lunettes still available along with the washers, springs, and nut? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

All the parts are still out there. The draw bar casting (big cast "V" shaped piece and the swivel casting (that goes into the "V" and the steel leg bolts to it) are a bit spendy but they are out there. I have several. The lunettes are also readily available both used and repop. John at MWM carries a complete repop setup.

When the concern is only fit and function the parts will interchange easily between the WWII MBT/T3 and the M100. The M416 has a wider frame so the "V" casting angle is different and the swivel casting for the M416 won't fit earlier trailers either. The steel leg and lunettes will work on all three.

Thanks for the info gentlemen......I have to confess.....I'm sorta getting the cart behind the jeep a little prematurely.....but I was trying to decide....whether I wanted to go back with a standard round trailer ball hitch or install a pintle hook arrangement. I have an old home built utility trailer that would be just right for use behind a jeep but it has a twisted bulldog hitch on it. If I could find a lunette and bracket for the trailer I could replace the bulldog..install a pintle....and, being the only pintle hook/lunette on the ranch...control what trailer gets hooked up to the jeep. And who knows....maybe someday I'll stumble across an old M100. anyway...thanks again,

If you are not concerned with detailed originality then just install the pintel hook on the jeep that has a 2" ball as part of the lower half.

Just for the record. Since I purchased the rights to the original government tooling and the lunette is made to the original print, the lunettes I have cannot be considered repop. These are new production to the original spec. I am now the government contractor for this part and have sold them to the gov't under contract.
I only state this to separate my parts from what is really a repop part that is imported and does not meet the specifications. Apples and oranges comparison.

Thanks again for the additional comments. No, what I'm doing to this jeep is by no means an originality detailed restoration. I'm simply returning the vehicle to a good usable condition...while at the same time trying real hard not to make it so that the next guy who does want to do so doesn't have to spend a ton of money on new parts. This jeep will become a daily driver on a working ranch and be used for both work and play. By installing a pintle hook on the jeep and a lunette on one small trailer I can control what gets hooked up to its rear bumper and hopefully save it from being over-loaded, overstressed, and bent way out of shape. Of course money is always a concern so when (and I'm begining to wonder IF) I ever get to this point I'll probably hit up MWM for some pricing and see where this leads. Of course the option of putting nothing on the rear bumper is always available....I just have to decide what to do about my missing vee shaped brace. Thanks.
