If you can't find a used one I believe Midwest Military has a new manufacture unit. _________________ Wes K

Thank-you Wes, Midwest Military show a high quality looking one. The hardest part of working on this M38 has been the supply of junk replacement parts.

After trying several of the sheet metal pulleys that run out of round, I bought one from John at Midwest. It is perfect and straight - Sonny _________________ 1951 M38, 1952 M38, 1952 M100,1946 Bantam T3-C, RT-66/GRC, PP-112/GR, MT-299, DT-44 Mine Detector, MVPA # 33068, PMVPA CO
Those out of round pulleys usually got that way by improper removal and replacement of the pulley. _________________ Wes K

Your track record of junk parts may have something to do with the choice of vendors. Lots of them out there that only want your money and are not concerned about quality. There are reputable dealers out there, but they will not be the cheapest. The old saying, "you get what you pay for", applies.
John
Your right I was my choice of vendor. I got a water pump that was off by a half inch and very poor casting and cast pulley and a sheetmetal crank pulley with the center hub offcenter by over .200, I was told by my vendor that the "Mfg. knew about the problems and so did they". I was told to bad-" no refund" and "good luck buying them from somewhere else we all get them from the same place" I'm new to this site and I've seen the review vendors section I'ts taken everything I've got not to bash this vendor there, It was the absolutely the worst customer service I've seen, they admitted there parts were bad but they got there money. Bill,
If you had that experience, PLEASE put it in the Reviews. I rely on them to find the parts I need, and any information that will keep me from getting ripped off is GOOD!!! I am sure most of the others on this site would agree.

Absolutely, Sam.. But also remember to give good reviews
where kudos are deserved-it's a two way street. Having spent
many years in customer service i can tell you that the only
time i ever got feedback from a customer was when there was
a problem. Your vendor/supplier appreciates a good review
when he deserves it.. Rick _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Hi Sam, I agree everyone who is spending there hard earned cash should know, The vendor review section on this forum was one of the greatest tools I have seen on a site, I'm just thankful for being invited to join this website and did not want to be a trouble maker. Rick you are 100% right when a good vendor who cares is found there name should be broadcast even louder! Thanks, Bill.

If you are still looking for a water pump, I suggest you try Midwest Military. I got a rebuilt pump from them. It requires a core but worth the money. The pump pulley lines up nicely because it is an original part. I bet that Pete Debella and Army Jeep Parts also have what you need.
