Can a CJ2a drivers seat be used in an m38? I was not sure if they are the same or not and if they are what is the going rate on these, $100.00?

If you put a CJ gas tank in you can use the 2A seat. Problem is the M38 is based on the CJ3A. The 3A shortened the top of the rear wheel houses and tilted their seat backs further aft to add belly room at the steering wheel. When you install the 2A seat in an M38 or CJ3A you loose the belly room and there's a very noticeable gap between the back of the seat and the wheelhouse. When you try to use the 3A seats in a 2A you have the opposite problem. There's not enough room at the wheelhouse for the 3A seat.

Thanks Wes someone local offered it to me but I didn't know if it would work. I was hoping to pick it up and pass it on to someone whom needed one for theirs as I know they are hard to comeby in good shape.
