That tray looks like the original M38 tray. It has a few extra holes in it.

Are you saying the tray in your photo is not the tray which you have a problem with?

I do not know of anyone making this tray new. Usually you must find them on a salvage frame.

Wes,

The photo tray that I put, is an example of the pan I need.
My tray does not have any photos of it, because it is very bad.

I'll try to buy a painting tray.
I think the best option is to buy this tray.

I've seen trays CJ2A and MB to sell, but never a tray M38. Sad

Thanks for your tip!

hug

The M38 tray is much shorter then the MB and CJ trays. This was to allow for the height of the M38 battery box. I have read in some web sites where the M38 restorer used a modified CJ tray.

Wes,

Thanks for the tip.
I'm looking for frames that are bad so I can just remove the battery holder.

There are people selling parts of the chassis on the Internet, and perhaps the battery tray.

Already got in touch, I'll wait for the news!

Thanks again for your attention.

hug

Hi Alexandre

I have a similar problem with this ex-Iran Army M38, but at least in my case there is still enough of the orginal battery tray preserved, so a repair job is possible. I had hoped to find a aftermarket part to cut out the missing front and rear end and simply weld it on, but so far no luck.

Hello Scrapyard,

It appears that these brackets are more difficult to find.
But I'll try to find one for my m38, because until I start restoring the frame, it will take about 5 months.

For the photo, its in good condition for this recovery! Good luck you had!!

hugs
Alexandre

Hello friends,

I researched a lot to find a battery holder for the original M38, and no success.
Many stores offer models for MB / GPW jeeps, and others, but the correct model for the M38 is a piece that is not found.

Got a real artist who makes these perfect replicas here in BRAZIL and if algéum be interested in purchasing, you can contact me to ask if they can do international delivery.

I will receive my support and also my fuel tank I asked them to do. According to friends who have already bought the tank of them claim to be a perfect replica, not having errors like those offered by MD.

Soon I'll post pictures and we are open to criticism.

hugs
Alexandre

Could you buy the CJ tray and shorten it. I know they are very similar, but I am not as versed on the CJ3A stuff.

A nice set of comparison shots would be nice. I assume by shorter you are meaning frame to hood dimensions. I also need this piece I have a salvaged cj2a one that if it only needs leg adjustments should be good, just need dimensions or something.

I'll show some pictures of the replica that got in BRAZIL, measures are perfect.

I really enjoyed the work.

Hope you like the quality of the battery holder.
