I saw this great article on eWillys . We need to get him signed up on this site, it would be fun to follow his progress.

I agree. I sent an email to the reporter and asked to have our web site address forwarded to them.

If you get a reply from him Wes, tell him that there is a military vehicle and collector show in Denton, NC (close enough to him) April 11-13. It is being held at Denton Farmpark. A lot of us Steel Soldiers members show up at lunch on Friday and stay through the weekend. Our meals are prepared in an MKT, and we have a convoy to the local Golden Corral on Saturday for lunch. Lots of spectators on Saturday, along with some on Friday afternoon. Nice big swap meet also. He might be able to find some parts he needs. This will be the 3rd annual.

It would be a great event for him to ride around in (and maybe even drive) a little bit of everything - I'll let him drive my M38a1 if he shows up. He can contact me for details if he wants.

Even at 13, don't discourage him. I was driving my CJ2A at that age that I worked to get the money to buy. I drove it in the field and hillside until I got my restricted driving permit at 14. Loved every minute of it. Child labor laws have changed. Too bad. John ( after viewing the pictures, I think his parents are to be commended!)

Exactly! 13 is plenty old enough to learn to drive off of the main roads. I didn't clarify, but I was talking about driving the smaller stuff like Jeeps or m37s. My daughter is 8 - she started driving my 'a1 in the field last year (steering it around the field).

Welcome! There is a ton of excellent information, advice, and guidance on this site. As We and Ryan will tell you (and others) the first step to sussing a problem is to check out the manuals and trouble shooting guide that's free here on the site.
Look forward to following your quest and seeing the end product.

Wildman Ben, HOWDY!! Like Josh (wydahdvr) mentioned above,
be sure to go to the downloads section here and access all the
pertinent TM's etc, they're a goldmine!! And do us all a favor and
request a free photo album to post fotos of your project.

PS I see from your profile you're involved with scouting-
my good friend Warren (also your age 13) just earned
his EAGLE.. I'm quite proud of his achievement!!

Hello Ben,

A big welcome to you, your project and your Dad Jeff. All of us love to see new young folks join this hobby. We also enjoy seeing Parents like your dad Jeff that support their young people's goals.

Here is your Mjeeps photo album:

And a tutorial for loading photos to the album:
