When facing the passenger /right fender looking at the slave socket is the negative cable on the left and the positive on the right? Does it matter? I am assuming that they are horizontal and not vertical.
Thank you very much! _________________ 1952 M38 3/52
Ken may be correct but I have never relied on a wiring schematic to determine the exact location of a electrical component or wire or harness.
Schematics are first drawn to show electrical system operation and circuits as clearly as possible. Some effort is put into keeping the relative positions of components somewhat close to their actual locations as referenced to an outline of the jeep but accuracy is not their best attribute.
I found the best illustration that address actual live view of the receptacle to be in TM 9-1804B, page 11, Fig. 6. This figure shows the two cables but they cross above & under each other ahead of the voltage regulator and then they both disappear under the generator where they are depicted by dotted lines and then you can see one terminates at the stater switch and one at the front end of the starter. Which is which cannot be determined.
Does anyone have an original government printing of this TM with a better quality figure 6? _________________ Wes K
