Hi,

I am selling my M38. I am a single father to a 9yr old boy and I think I may just be in over my head with the restoration. I am located in Easton, MD 21601.

The Jeep needs a total restoration, but it is very original. The engine turns over freely by hand and needs to be restored as well.

Instead of purchasing a replacement tub, I have purchased NOS front floor assembly, extending from the seats all the way up, including the rear of the cowl. This piece will make a big difference in the restoration. This piece alone cost me $850 and because I did not want for it to be cut up , I paid $300 to have it shipped to me in one piece.
Here are pictures of the flooring/cowl assembly:

Other original items I have purchased: Gas tank, NOS oil pump, fuel pump, two new batteries, battery charger, front bumper, carb (for core use only), many manuals, books and misc. items - I am sure I am forgetting something

Current condition of the Jeep: I have taken off the hood, fenders, grill, all engine components, radiator and removed all of the wiring, dash controls and gauges assembly.
I already started stripping the tub and the majority is done. The tub is unattached, but still sitting on the frame and transportation is possible as the Jeep rolls freely.
Here are the most recent pictures:

I have the driver's seat frame, but no other seats. I also have the top frame. Both will need some repair.

I have already well over $5k invested at this point, but would take $3,000 with a smooth and easy transaction. I'm not interested in giving the Jeep away. Should anybody be interested, please let me know and I will email you as many pictures as you like. You can contact me directly ab4you@hotmail.com if you like.

Here are some when I first brought the Jeep home:

Thanks,

Andy

Sorry to hear this, Andy. Restoring one of these trucks can be a daunting
challenge. You say you feel you're in over your head-you're the best judge
of that. Have you reached out for help w/other members who may be
in your area? A lot of guys just itch for the chance to get greasy on
someone else's truck.

Experience tells that a disassembled vehicle is more difficult to
sell than one that's not. I wish you best of luck w/the sale.

However, should you decide to forge on with the resto we'll all be in
your corner cheering you on!! Rick

I always set small goals that can be completed that day and do small projects every week. It all adds up quicker than you think. Don't think about the entire project or set dates to be done.

Good luck either way you go.

Congrats on a quick sale!! That you've sold the Jeep doesn't mean you need to run off, so stick around and visit often.. Rick
