What are the torque specs for the six connecting bolts? Can't seem to locate them. 12-17? Thanks in advance.

As a general rule in maintenance, anytime a procedure does not list a torque for a fastener and the fastener is not listed in the manuals torque listing then proceed to a "Standard Torque Chart for the grade fastener being torqued and use that figure. You must know the grade (IE grade 5 or grade Cool and the size/thread pitch of the fastener. Go to the ORD 9 SNL G-740 page 52 and you find the bolt (Or screw if you believe the parts list) is a Screw, cap, hex-hd, 5/16-18NC-2x1 1/16.

You can google up a "Standard Torque chart for a Grade 5 bolt or use one from my photo album. I would suggest you go to my album on torque and print the 5 pages shown there. Study them and then select an appropriate torque from the page 5 chart.

I know these WWII series manuals up thru the 50's lack a general torque chart but the Army finally got their act together in the late 60's and started including them.

According to the Willys service manual SM1002-R6 the clutch pressure plate to fly wheel torque is 12-17 and the flywheel to crank torque is 35-41

Good catch RG. I missed that when I looked in SM 1002 torque list page 285. For some reason they list the flywheel under the "Engine" section and the pressure p[late under the "Chassis" section.

Brumbach,

I have that chart in my photo album under SM-1002:
