1952 M38A1 Engine number is MD 95388. Also, there is a "020" before the MD 95388. Is the "020" to identify the engine has been bored to .020? Any input is appreciated. Working on getting picture of the a1 posted.

The Willys & Kaiser Factory practice for indicating over sizes and under sizes was to use a letter after the serial. So you can assume you have a numerical size marking preceding your serial number will mean that it was placed there in the field by someone other than Willys/Kaiser. So it could mean any of several sizes under or over, bearing sizes or piston bore sizes.
