Looking for carter ys 637s or 950.

Any suggestions on who may have one will be really appreciated.

The 950 goes on the M38A1 F head engine. The flange is angled instead in line with the block like the M38 L head.

Brian thanks, when you start looking at carbs for the M38 your eyes crisscross.

Was there only one “approved” carb the YS637s? Or were there others? Of do what make/model?

Lyle,

The YS637S is the M38 specific approved carb. It is very different from the YS950S which is the M38A1/M170 specific approved carb. The YS950S has a larger main venturi and a mount flange oriented 90 degrees different and bolt spacing wider then the YS637S.

















Are there other carbs that fit the M38's L134 engine. Yes there are. The earlier WWII and CJ2A WO series carb can be adapted as can the YF series carbs. Other's have adapted Webber, Solex & Ford Motorcraft carbs.
