I am fixing to rebuild the steering box in my 1952 M38 and want to make sure I have the right size reamer for the sector shaft bushings. Am I correct in thinking that the shaft is 15/16" in diameter? Just wanting to make sure! Thanks.

I always wait until I have the shaft out and measure it precisely to obtain a proper fit. Expanding reamers make this work better.

Thanks, Wes. All I have is a fixed reamer. Guess I better invest in an adjustable reamer so I can hit the 0.0005 - 0.0025" clearance spec!
