Thanks for all the info on installing the clips. I too have a M38 Juan repo tub with 3/8" holes drilled in the dash. The clips I have are too big for the holes. In the pics I noticed that the original factory tub has holes much larger than 3/8" to accommodate the clips. Do I need to drill out the holes so the clips will fit and, if so, what size hole?

I’ll look at my dash tomorrow. There should be an indentation on the front for one of the pins. The other two go behind.

The four holes are 7/8” diameter with two indentations 180 degrees from each other for the middle lug of the insert to sit in.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try to make the dzus fasteners work.

You’ll need to make those indentations on the front for the middle clips. Otherwise the gauge panel may not sit flat.

You can gouge out a piece of oak or other hard wood. Clamp or hold it on the back while tapping on the front with a rounded tool to make the Depression.
Doesn’t need to be pretty. No one will ever see it.
