The vented windshield was available on the MB, GPW, M38A1, CJ5, M170, CJ3B. It would improve your chances to learn more by first telling us which model jeep you are referring to.

As I said in my email reply to you earlier, listing a real first name will also enhance your replies as will adding your jeep model to your automatic signature element which is available to you in your Member's Profile File.

Also learning your way around our web site will show you many venues that contain many answers to your questions.

As an example, my photo album album is a treasure trove of technical data for you to explore: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?set_albumName=Wes-Knettle&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

Especially this sub-album: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?set_albumName=album337&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

I have a venting windshield I restored that's on my M38A1 - likely not correct at all, I know, but it was the one my dad put on the Jeep when he built it from 2 wrecked jeeps nearly 50 years ago. I'll try to find my digital pics & post on this thread if you need reference.
