You won't find many folks re-curving their 60 or 72 HP engine distributors to get a better jump off the line! I am curious why you feel the need to re-curve your distributor?

Wes:

I have a 3/4 race cam, the whole rotating assembly including the clutch were balanced. I used the larger M38a1 clutch assembly.

Use a F-head exhaust manifold.

I’ve ported both intake and exhaust manifolds. Also ground and the polished the inside of the intake manifold.

I have the Weber 2v complete with waterproof horn.

The points were replace by a pertronix Hall effect ignitor.

Cylinder Compression +/- 1 PSI, 90PSI each cylinder.

Runs happily at 4,500rpm.

So, I’ve engaged in Thousands of upgrades for ~13% increase HP. For me it’s not a stretch for me to see what I can do to help the torque out.

I’m currently waiting to get a picture library set up. As I’d like to show my project.

Seems like you are replicating some of the famous jeep mountain and desert racers of the 50's. Good luck.

Thanks!

There is so much reference material from so many people. Couldn’t have gotten to this point.
