This is a long shot but I need 2 resistors that go on the back of the early m38 gauges. The Ordnance # appears to be 7359519

Thanks in advance.

Hi Trip,
Are you looking for original or modern equivalent substitutes?

In the ORD9 on page 153 I see quantity three 95 ohm resistors. You need 2? Does that mean you have a photo of what they look like? The ORD9 doesn't provide a description of the type of resistor it is, and I couldn't locate a photo searching (including the TM's), but could be missing it. A photo would really help. I can find modern 95 ohm 10 watt resistors on the interweb for about $5 each.

I see quite a few posts over many years asking about these early gauge resistors (including your search for them going back several years), with nobody closing the loop with an answer for a solution.

I'd imagine if you're looking for originals it's going to be tough. Did you call MWM or AJP?

A modern substitute would be fairly easy to get and not be seen behind the dash plate.

The ORD9 says the part number is G742-7539516, WO-118920, AC-1507429. Is the part number you gave a typo?

The G742 is the M35 Deuce-and-a-Half. Maybe a Deuce owner over on the Steel Soldiers forum is sitting on a NOS gold mine of originals. Just a thought.

Good luck!

No problem: an on the shelf item here in Canada. Both the cylindrical resistor and the Bakelite retainer. These early gauges are identified by one small Douglas connector for the sending unit wire and a large Douglas connector for the resistor retainer. .. Brian
