Hello. OK, this time I'm restoring a M38A1 that have this kind of rear frame member, having the hooks at the both sides. It looks like an USMC unit, but there is not locking diffs at anywhere. Was sanded many years ago, so there is not hood numbers. At the dash there was not the ID tags... when I dissasembled the dash, I was very surprised because NEVER had the holes for this tag. So the only information I have is serial number: MD12945. Engine number is nearly erased, in the next days will come a friend with a CSI kit or so, to find it... But it was converted to 12 volts systems some years ago, that my customer don't want to reverse at this time: now whe are restoring (frame off, ground up, of course) to paint it all, total, all around new brakes (including a external servo), revision and a little mechanics, because it runs very good and looks like it had few miles of use. It have a Willys kind battery tray cover (with a curious detail), hinged grille and non-reinforced fenders.
At this moment, I've near all ready, but I can't find at anywhere some marking information. I olny found that USMC Jeeps were 19xxxx numerals at the hood and something about the units, marked with something like shields, with numbers at the perimeter. I would like to know if there is some site with information or pics about marking, because we want to be the closest to reality as we can.
I will appreciate any help on this...

Good morning,
Are you asking if there is a database for what the numbers were of this jeep? \

Example: you have an engine number but want to know hood number and unit assigned.

Is this correct?
That sort does not exist.

Hello. No, it is not my question.
I want to know about hood/bumper númber markings for USMC jeeps, not what number my Jeep has. It's because I don't want to use a number that not fit with its age.
Thanks

In my sub-album Paint & Markings:

From my USMC Differences sub-album these two pages are from a very old MVM magazine:
