I found 2 different sizes of Grille Hinge Pivot Pins in my parts box, see pics below...
Can someone tell me which one is the right size.
Thanks

Hi Pierre,
The mounting base on my M38 are 2 inches wide, and the pin itself extends another 3-1/8 inches past the mount.

I didn't look in the M38 ORD9 SNL or do any search to see if there might be "early" or "late" part numbers that might explain the difference.

I could be wrong, but thought that only the M38 and M38A1 (not CJ's) had hinged grills to make removing the power pack easier. Not sure about the M151.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Pierre, I believe the M38 brackets (Lt. 673281 / Rt. 673282) are wider then the M38A1 brackets (Lt. 681443 / Rt. 681444). If you look closely at the photos below you can see the M38 hinge pin bracket is as wide as the frame rail but the M38A1 is not There is a closer view of the narrow M38A1 unit in the TM 9-8014 page 323.

Thank you Wes and Ron for your input...I'll look more closely next time I see a M38A1

Wes is correct. M38 are the wide ones and M38A1 are the narrow ones.
