Hi All, and particularly Jan-Olof from Sweden,

When doing some research on my M38A1 recently, via google I found below trail, and decided to sign up for this Jeep forum. I am located in Sweden.

According to the Seller of my Jeep, it was imported from Kuwait, and according to the Swedish registration it originates from 1952. That does not match information from this trail, which would indicate that my Willys is from 1962 as my chassis number is 57048-10-11472. That's OK but let's not tell the Swedish authorities.

But below info confirmed the Saudi / Kuwait connection. Which matches the yellow fine sand which I found under layers of grease (greese?) when "doing" the gearbox.

Curious to hear how it went with your registration, Jan-Olof.

Best,
Robert

Hi Robert, nice to hear of some Swede taking care of one of the 102 M38A1 that were imported to Sweden 1987.

Last winter I spent most of the time to convince Swedish authorities that my jeep really excist and that it is not smuggled to our country. The rest of the year have past with a very slow restoration and on December 22, 2016 I successfully passed the registration inspection.

Robert, send me a PM (personal message on this site) and we can explore our interests.

See you
