I recieved my new main shaft and finally assembled it. When i install it i am checking to make sure everything rotates with the main gear installed into the main drive gear. I am checking it after step 4cc on the willys tech t90 rebuild website. When I do this it only rotates a quarter of turn clockwise and counter clockwise. When I pull the main shaft back about a quarter of an inch (rough estimate) everything rotates just fine. To me it seems like the second gear is not messing right with the cluster gear and that the cluster gear needs to be shimmed toward the back of the case. I have installed the two thrust washers that come in the small parts kit and everything else is new as well. Is there times where it needs a thicker thrust washer or am I way off. Anyone else have this issue?

I read more into it and the TM states the cluster gear should have .012 to.018 of end play and to get the correct end play you should use .0555 or .0625 thick thrust washer. I dissassemblied the tranny and found both thrust washers were .0625. I ignored this during assembly because on willytech website he said he never had an issue with having less then that. Long story short could this be a causal factor to my problem?

So i got it all figured out. After taking a breather I reassembled everything and it turn out to be the synchronizer blocking rings. They werent lining up right which caused the whole main shaft to be off. Which then caused the binding. Thanks everyone for the help!!!! Wink
