Before I filled in this big hole and the two smaller holes in the driver side of my floor I thought I'd ask a speculative question.

Some background.
The extra holes are obviously for a civvy high beam switch or a floor start switch of some sort. The M38 high beam switch was still in its correct location when bought. These are directly below and several inches down.

The right fender has two holes and a slight outline of a base of some sort.
No corresponding holes or outline on the left fender, just the blackout headlight holes.

Am I looking at a possible siren mount and switch? I know some were actuated with a momentary push button, but way back in the dim, foggy in my volunteer fireman days we had a 1940's open cab La France fire engine with a huge fender mounted siren which was actuated by a floor switch like this might have had.

The question is did the military use this type of switch, and are there examples of one installed, or do I just fill the mess with plate.

BTW, Bubba did not make these holes, They look almost factory.

Thanks,

Remember a photo is worth a thousand words. When asking about holes in the jeep make it easier on everyone to post a photo with the holes in question marked. It will make for much faster and more accurate answers!

You are correct Sir. As soon as the dew lifts I'll get one.
