Hi guys,
I am recent owner of an 1952 M38. I have started the restoration on it and want to take it back to the original form as much as possible. When I bought it, has been converted to a 12V and I want to know what steps I would need to take to convert it back to 24V. Like what components I would need to replace and which ones will be able to be reused.

You will need to change the Starter, Generator, regulator, Gauges, and Light bulbs...
Depending on if you install a Solid State Regulator you will need a voltmeter or if you install an older "Bread Box" regulator you will need an Ammeter.
The change over is not difficult, just need to do your homework...
This post is the first step in that direction... _________________ Hal, KB1ZQ

1st you need to itemize your existing electrical components and ID them as original or 12 volt substitutions. Then determine what if any of the original 24 V harness is still there. You will need a set of manuals to make these determinations.
ORD 9 SNL G-740 M38 Parts Manual
TM 9-8012 M38 Organizational (User's) Maintenance Manual
TM 9-1804A M38 Engine & Clutch Service Manual
TM 9-1804B M38 Chassis, Body & Running Gear Service Manual
These are all on our downloads page in PDF format you can download for free.
I am starting to convert my Jeep now but I am having a hard time trying to find 24V parts. Would you guys have an idea of where I can find good 24V parts for my car. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
