For those who are going to be painting their vehicles and choosing paint I wanted to post some pictures of the AJP Late WII Semi-gloss (Late 1944-1957) synthetic enamel next to the MWM OD2430 synthetic enamel as both paints are sold for the M38's and M38A1's as the factory paint. I know there is plenty of old threads on paint colors, pictures of paint charts etc. and people can research each product. I just wanted to provide a side by side comparison in case anyone was interested. In the pictures below I have painted my M38A1 frame and associated parts the MWM OD2430 as that is what I preferred for it. Next to it is the body of my fathers 45 MB that I have been working on lately and painted with the AJP Late WII Semi-gloss as that was the paint he had. As you can see the MWM OD2430 is much browner compared to the greener AJP. Not a new conclusion there. This post is not to debate which is more correct or which paint is better. Its just to show the color differences for people who are not familiar with the differences.

The chassis is too dark for a real 2430 and the tub is too lite. The norm in the past was to use the AJP late WWII and darken it a wee bit with 24087 which is what the 2430 on your frame really looks like.
