I assume you are talking about the cross shaft bushing which is called a bearing in the parts manual. Page 252 the first item in Section 1206 for the M38. or page 249 first item in section 1206 for the M38A1. 2 each!
I posted the photo you emailed me in your post. That is not the two bushings I ID'd above for the shaft. That one is not listed separate from the pedal assembly in any of the parts manuals.
You should be able to carry the shaft, pedal & old bushing to a machine shop and get one made up. _________________ Wes K

A common ailment.
Willys actually sold a kit that just snugged the inside of the shaft end and kept the pedal from wobbling that way. They are stupid expensive if you can find one but just about everybody and their dog has figured out how to make them. Not rocket science at all.
Another method which makes more sense, and looks like you are thinking that way is to buy a 1-1/8" od x 1" id x 1" long oilite bushing. Ream out the pedal shaft hole to an interference fit for the bushing. Install it, then drill a hole into the biushing from the grease zert hole taking care not to crater the threads, and also take off any burrs inside where the drill bit went through. Put it back on the shaft and good as new.

Looks like your exh pipe is not in the right place! That's a very congested piece of space!
That kit was designed for the CJ and doesn't take into consideration that M38's exhaust pipe lays a wee bit more left to accommodate the winch front drive shaft. If you are not using a military winch then using the civvy CJ3A exh pipe will eliminate the congestion. _________________ Wes K

Wesk, I'll agree with you on that. It is an aftermarket exhaust system. it was on it when I bought the Jeep. I plan on replacing it at a later date with possibly one for a CJ3a. And thanks for all the pictures. _________________ 1952 M-38 # 53623 - 2-52. M 416 trailer.
Both the 3A & the M38 use the same exhaust manifold connection. You would have to use the 3A muffler or modify the bends and add the rear flange to meet a M38 muffler.
