I have a related question that Dave can
use the answer to.

The replacement steps all have a turned up vertical
edge. To install does one put this behind the cowl
or cut out the cowl and weld it flush?

Thanks for moving Wes.

As built the steps are all one piece and part of the cowl.

My question was specific to installing replacement steps.
The ones on Ron's eBay listing are unusual as they do not have
a turned up edge. A second question is begged as to how you
install that step

But back to my original question. When installing the step with the
turned up edge do you slip the turned up edge behind the cowl and
weld everything up or do you spot the step and mark that upturned
edge on the cowl, cut out that portion of the cowl then weld the
upturned edge flush with the cowl sheet metal?

I've seen it done both ways. Just wondering which is the proper way.

Thanks,

Since they are aftermarket repair parts and their replacement is not specified, listed or explained in the manufacturer's manuals I believe that question

can only be properly answered by the manufacturer/distributor of the aftermarket panel. Any other comments would be nothing more than opinions unless the respondent had the manufacturer's instructions available to quote.
