I am looking for a M38A1 1953 - 1957 restore project that I can work on with my 15 year old son. The closer to Round Rock Tx the better. The goal is to rebuild a M38A1 to a weekend driver - keeping it as close to stock as possible. A running engine or at least a non-seized f 134 hurricane motor - 5k or less.

Have you looked at Craigslist? I'be seen A1's on there in various states
in the Austin/San Antonio area.

Thanks for the quick reponse 4x4M38. I have been checking Craigslist, I am guessing it is all about timing/patience waiting for the right deal. I posted on this site hoping that someone just might have one sitting around waiting for the right time to sell. Once again, thanks, this is a great site with a wealth of knowledge.

There were several on there in the last few months.

Now only a couple of beater M38's and Cj's.

Brent Mullins and another guy in College Station may have
a couple. Don't know for sure or if they are even project worthy.

A couple of the all original, untouched ones I've seen on the web
came complete with a V6, lift kit, mudders and roll cage....

Lol!

I have personally seen several up at Midwest Military. John even has a couple that have had the hard word already done. Down mostly to cosmetics nicknacks paint and such. Great guy to deal with also. What he says is and wont mislead you.
I have bought everything from a WC63 to a Cletrac from him.
