I need to get a part number for the cylinder head gasket. Is this part something I can get from NAPA or another local supplier or do I need to go through one of our MV vendors?
Urgent.
Thanks!

This is where I got my copper gasket. I actually got in the mail overnight (it was sent Priority Mail). Of course, I live in the same state, so it might take longer to get to you.

If you must locate one locally just request one for a 1953 CJ3A with L134 engine. or if their book doesn't go back that far then ask for a 1965 DJ3A with L134.

I'm no expert, but several pros have recommended using the copper gasket like the one I posted the link for above.

If you want to get a Fel-Pro gasket, which is available at many auto parts stores, ask for Fel-Pro model #7543SBX.

If you go with the felpro or anything other than a copper gasket, you had better be prepared to re-torque the head at least 3 times.

What are the recommended valve settings? The valve clearances?

Looks like p 73 in TM 9-1804A has the valve clearance specs...
