Yes, Ron,
Someone here lately had lengths of individual wires for an A1 harness
if I remember correctly..

And Bob, you can reuse the Douglas terminals. Heat it to remove the wire,
then use a drill of the right size to remove solder. When you reinstall
solder instead of simply crimping. It's a better connection anyway.

Take care,

O

Hi Guys,

Brian, I was in error when I said my harness was made in 80 or 81. I checked it this morning (for my 2 #40 wire post) and it was made in 1989! So even a bit scarier than originally thought.

Ya know, I'm sure many folks have installed old NOS harnesses without much problem, so I don't mean to rag on you about it......my only concern is that when I'm working on my vehicle I don't want to be afraid to touch or move parts of the wiring harness as needed to work on something without being afraid it's going to crack and crumble in my hands. It's just one of those things I'd like to fix from the get-go and not have to worry about again. So for me it just makes sense to make a new harness out of the best wire I can find so I can get some "piece of mind". I got to say..........I'm really surprised the grommets in my 1989 harness crapped out before the wire insulation.....that's surprising.

Good conversation........thanks to everyone for the input.

regards,
bob
