My M38 has a SGOMD rebuild tag on the MC engine. I pulled the transmission and transfer case yesterday and when cleaning the transmission found this painted on code identifier from SGOMD on the transmission. Does anyone know when M38s were rebuilt by military ordinance depots if each component rebuilt by them was marked like this? Trying to determine if I need to be on the lookout and be gentler when cleaning components to preserve markings if they are there. Thanks

What makes you think 303 is a paint code?

After seeing your reply I see how I wrote it and that it reads that way (paint code) I meant painted on inventory/component code by the maintenance depot, sorry for the confusion
