I made a previous post about carb issues I’m having with my YS 637. I’ve read Wes’s post on metering rod differences and mic’d the rods I have one is marked 75-826s the other 75-595s. Both are exactly the dimensions Wes shows for the YS 950 metering rod 75-826s. I talked to George at AJS about it and ordered another kit making sure he was sending the YS637 kit with the 75-595s metering rod he assured me it was the correct rod. Got the kit (nice btw with red diaphragms). The metering rod is marked 75-595s but is the exact dimensions of the 75-826s!!! I haven’t called George yet but any thoughts? I’ve got 3 different kits none have contained a metering rod with the dimensions Wes shows for 75-595s even though 2 are marked as such. Frustrating

We are normally seeing 4 different brand kits on the market today.

1-AJP & Midwest carry a dual kit. One with supposedly all the necessary parts for either the 637S or the 950S.

2-Ron Fitzpatrick's single kits.

3-Old NOS kits carb specific

4-OMIX Ada

I have the 2 kits on the top and the unmarked rod that was in it originally. All have metering rods the dimensions of the YS950 rod even though it’s marked 75-596s.

You do not have many choices here.

1 - Insist the dealer come up with a dimensionally correct rod.

2 - Spend more money on another brand kit.

3 - Re-use the old original rod.
