I have a question that I am hoping you can help me with in regards to the radiator assembly. I have found an overabundance of CJ2A radiator assemblies out three but the M38 ones are hard to find. Are these interchangeable (minus the support rod brackets on the sides)? I though one from a CJ3A would work but it does not seem to have the more angular profile that I found in your book. The CJ2A version does but I am not sure how correct it is. If I refer to the Kaiser Willys catalog they list an assembly that is for the MB, GPW, CJ2A, and M38. Although I cannot afford to make this M38 a 100% restoration job I still want to make sure I am getting parts that are going to work with my M38 and not be grossly out of whack.

A good place to start your investigation of what may or may not work is a side by side comparison of the CJ2A & M38 radiators.

Where would I find a M38 radiator? I look at Kaisey Willys and they say the one they offer works for three other Willys models plus the M38. I dont see it at few other places either. Hmmm

Nothing against Kaiser Willys; but some of their parts are compromises for different vehicles... I have purchased parts from them and Walcks and gotten a suitable sub in their minds...

I hate to say it but I watch eBay and see them there at times...

And you want a proper M38 radiator. With those supports on the bottom
sides you can pull the powerplant as an assembly including the radiator
per procedure without even draining the radiator fluid!

Not hijacking here but I am curious is someone has purchased a new replacement radiator and welded on the side support rod brackets? It seems easy enough to do. The original M38 radiators were three row correct?
