Never a very good idea to set yourself up with a dual voltage situation.

This topic has been discussed for at least 40 years to great length's. The place to start is with deciding first exactly what you want. Try perusing my photo sub-album on Turn Signals: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?set_albumName=album41&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

1 - Do you want to stay completely 24V?

2 - If 24 V which turn signal system do you wish to use?
(a) Original large mechanical control box military kit type?
(b) 2nd original military style transistorized kit?
(c) A civilian HD 24V turn signal kit?

3 - Do you wish to modify your current military lamps to accept turn signal bulbs?

4 - Do you want to add separate turn signal light assemblies?

Take the time to answer all 4 of these questions and we will be bale to get you started on the right path.

Did you give the album I have for "Turn Signals" a thorough review?

You have this kit?

Each of these bulbs are single element bulbs. If as you say you have dual element bulbs in your tail lamps then they are not original military tail lamps.

If your M38 is stock 24V then this diagram shows 5 bulbs in the back with only one hot wire going to each of them.

Is your electrical system stock M38 24V matching this schematic?

# 4 not sure on this question buy what you mean

The original M38 had four standard military light assemblies. Two front single bulb, single filament small diameter parking or BO light assemblies, a standard full size left rear light assembly with three lamps all of which are single filament lamps and a single full size right rear assembly with two bulbs having one filament each. This yielded several functions. The left rear light with three bulbs provided a red brake lamp for regular driving (Service Drive), a red tail lamp for regular driving (Service Drive) and a BO tail lamp. The right side only provided a BO stop lamp and a BO tail lamp. By asking "Do you want to modify your 4 light assemblies or simply add a separate light assembly, 2 in front and 2 in back? means do you want 4 more light assemblies added on that only function as regular driving turn signals?

#2 I have the turn signal and flasher and wiring on the second and third row.
the electrical system is stock m38 24 volt

If all the bulbs are signal can they still be use as turn signals

Thank Again for your help

That electrical diagram is for the M151 which used dual filament front light sockets.

Here's a more sophisticated wiring diagram which should clear up any more questions.
