Greetings from Maine! Hi all, I am new to the board so I thought I should say hi and let you know about my project. Its my first military jeep and probably not my last. I have and had some CJs but I have always wanted an M38. I picked it up a few months ago in New Hampshire. The previous owner and his friends are great group of guys. I currently have the Jeep stripped to the frame. I am doing the usual broken bolt and rust repair, but overall it's solid. I am very excited about this project.

Welcome aboard. Feel free to keep us informed of your progress. You might also want to start a photo album in our "Member's Photo Album" page. If you have a technical question or want a part be sure to use the Technical Board and the Wanted Board for those questions because they will have more viewers there.

I patched some soft spots in my frame {nothing structural}and after wrestling with my sandblaster, I finally primed my frame! This is big for me. It's slow going, but I am headed in the right direction.

Sounds like you picked up a fun project. I have a 73CJ that is about done. Always wanted a flat fender and looked around for over a year for the right M38. Did a 20 hour drive the week after Christmas to beat the snow and pick it up in SE Oregon coming from Seattle. Its been a great project.
It's pretty stock and with the CJ as a trail rig it will stay that way.

Have fun
Kurt
At some point i will figure out how to add photos. It would be nice to see your rig.
