The CJV-35/U is the direct predecessor to the M38 and is a true Willys Military Jeep. Only 1000 were made and all in 1950.

Im looking for parts for one I am going to restore. Right now looking for any of the electrical system components. That would include a Scintilla 6V underwater distributor. The water proof 6V generator and regulator. Also the starter is unique, it looks just like the early M38 but it is 6V.

Thanks to this boards help, I now know I need the unique light switch and plate for these jeeps, anyone?

So somewhere in your parts stashes you may have one or more of these parts.

Let me know!

Thanks, Mark Smile

I have a Auto-Lite 6v Ignitor (waterproof distributor) in my parts stash that looks to have come from a CJV35. It is non restored and looks original. I can take pictures and send them over to you if interested.

PM sent. But I believe the CJV35 uses a Bendix-Scintilla distributor.
