I recently read the waterproof distributer service info over on the Yahoo site and was suprised to see the flyweights refered to as govenor weights. Am I missunderstanding Embarassed , I thought they are for timing advance. Do they retard the timing at high engine speed? Confused

They govern the rate of advance by either both advancing and less advancing (in escence retarding)

Thanks for clearing that up. I've been having acceleration trouble under load lately. Last spring you warned me about using an old kit in my carb Embarassed, since I already had it I used it anyway. Worked great for a while, now I am waiting for the new kit from midwest and a fuel pump kit while I'm at it. Thanks for the advice I should have ordered the kit sooner. Some day I'll learn to trust the experience of my peers Laughing
