Is the m38 fenders the same as the CJ3A? My original right fender was crinkled on the front. Im going to take it by a body shop and see if they can straighten it but I may have to order a replacement.

The early fender was as close to the 3A as you will get. Different holes and battery relief/strap setup. The late fender has a different angle cut into the rear verticle surface for the arctic power plant heater kit.

I don't know. It's another situation where the fender physically changed slightly but the part number remained the same. One would have to have a copy of the factory blueprint to note the effective date of the change. I would imagine it probably coincided with the introduction of the arctic power plant heater kit in 1952.

Ill take a look this afternoon at the fender that came on it and let you know if it has the new or old style on it.
