I just picked these up and need some info. I know that they are early starters, but what condition. They look NOS, but what does the paper work mean???
Check photo album for m38mc for pick of paper work with starters.
Thanks, Larry

Do you have the model numbers off of the starters?

Here is the pick from your photo album.

Hi Rayn,
The onfo on the starters,
Spec# AXS-1851
MFR's # MBP 4301UT
ORD # 7762616
I know these are early M38 Starters, I am trying to
figure out the paper work that came with them. It seams
as they are just returns. They also look like they are NOS.
What is "CODE N2"?

Larry,

The only thing I can tell you is to take one apart and check it out or put it onto a vehicle and see if it works or not.

That paperwork really does not give much for information.

Sorry I could not help you out more.

Without knowing the code there's not much to be gained from that sheet. They may have been turned in as "Excess to needs" (Servicable), Or as used Repairable units that were cleaned up as is often required on turn ins that are to be repaired. That sheet makes no mention of status (repairable, repaired, servicable and so on). It also shows no labor expended. So they may have been just very clean core returns.

Thanks for the replys, and Ryan sorry for name miss spell, I have broken
wrist on the left hand and fat fingers on right.
I installed one of the starters on my M38 today, it works prefectly. I opened up another one and it is just like new. I could'nt find any wear on any of the parts. Other than miner skuffs in the paint they appear unused.
Again thanks,
