Correct on the AFCS emblem... Did 20 yrs in AFCS, working Navaids (ILS, TACAN, TVOR, LORAN C/D) for 12 years; Then did Wideband for 8 yrs. I have done fixed, installation and mobile comms...

In my home I have an ICOM-746 HF-6M-2M all mode... Antenna for it is on a 48 ft tower with a Cushcraft X7 with 40M add on @ 50 ft; 6M is a Cushcraft 6 element @ 56 ft and for 2 a 13 element at 60 ft, all on the same mast and tower...
For the M-38CDN; I am working on getting a RT-68 (Will cover 6M FM) ready to install, just need to locate some parts for the power supply (PP-112)... I have all the other parts at this time, mount and antennas...

Actually the very early Korean war period saw a lot of WWII vintage radio equipment. The SCR600 series which were readily converted to Ham ops. The conversion instructions are on the web in several places.
