I am building a M38 jeep and need to make a steel backing plate for my reproduction Data plate set. I need the Dimensions for the backing plate that the data plates are attached to. I could also use a good picture of the layout of all the plates including the winch data plate so I can fabricate what I need. Thanks.

The late M38 and the M38A1 and the M170 all use the same mounting plate.

The plate is 10 7/8" wide by 7 1/4" high.

The four mounting holes for the plate are all 1/4" in from the side edges and 9/16" from the top and bottom of the plate.

The four corners are rounded at about a 3/8" radius.

The 3 left data plates left edges are 1/2" from the left edge of the mounting plate.

The 3 right data plate right edges are 1/2" in from the right edge of the mounting plate.

The data plates start 1/16" down from the top and end 1/16" up from the bottom. With equal vertical spacing.
