My M38CDN had only part of the CAR # visable all I can see is 52-1
can other M38CDN owners close to in servive date of August 29,1952
send me there # so I might do educated guess of what mine will be.

F101696 52-31707 unk 08-25-52 none
F101782 52-31795 Unk 9-11-52 Unk

This should narrow it down for you. However as you can see if you do the arithmetic there are 86 serial numbers and 88 CAR numbers so you can only get with 2 or 3 of the correct CAR for your jeep.

You must have a typo with your 52-1XXXX

The ordnance code ID's the material and the contract number ID's the document used by the Canadian Government to detail the contractual arrangement between Ford of Canada at Windsor and the Canadian Government for production of the M38 CDN and initial spare parts..
