I have purchased canvass seat covers and foam and new pans for the front seats of my M38. Is anyone aware of any posts or articles on getting a good fit with the upholstery? I'm good with a wrench, but not much with cloth. Do most people just take them to an upholstery shop? Material is high density foam for the cushions, canvass covers, and metal seat pans both top and bottem.

Test fit the covers to make sure you have enough padding. Then when you have the cushion firm enough use masking tape to temporarily hold the cover in place and work around it several times working out wrinkles and if they won't all come out try moving the troublesome wrinkles to where they can't be seen easily then start installing the screws.

What a great idea Wes! I'll give it a try. What about the seat bottems that arn"t attached with screws?

Are you using springs and original horse hair with original bottoms?

I saw it somewhere but can't find it now. Anybody know the thickness of the rear seat cushions?

Thanks Reddog
