Hey,

I am looking for a radio receptacle plug - preferable with the wires still intact.

Photo below is what I am looking for.

Thanks,

M38 not M38A1

The early M38 had a radio receptacle installed at the factory until late 1951, then it was deleted with a kit issued to using units if a radio was to be installed.

Hal,

I am looking for this early style M38 receptacle. The kit that MWM, AJP, and Debella sell is the later style kit that was factory installed OCT - DEC 1951 and the issued as a replacement. It is a shorter plug in appearance than the one I posted a photo of above.

I know of a jeep with one still in it. Next time I see the owner I will ask if he wants to sell it. His jeep has a cj motor in it and is no longer 24v, but still has the orginal paint, very rough body however. I wont see him again until sometime and may.

Thanks Bill!

Let me know if you run across it and I will buy it from you.

I am heading to Afghanistan soon, but will still have intermittent email access and will be able to have my dad send you money, etc.

Cool

I will make sure to ask him the next time I see him. I asked him about it last time we talked and he said he would consider removing it from his jeep. I dont know if the wires have been cut at all however. What I could see looked pretty good. He wants an extra tanny and transfer case I have so maybe I can work a deal with him (the extras are not in good shape, need rebuilding)
