Anyone know off the top of their head who has the best price on an air/oil breather, either repro or resto? Looking for the tall cannister, not the short squat one.

The standard M38A1 early air filters usually go around $40 used on most of the web sites and Ebay.

Apologies, guys, this is for an M38 tub, I already have the correct breather for my M38A1. My CJ2A has an M38 tub.

Galen,

the M38 air breathers are harder to find. I saw one on ebay just a couple of weeks ago. I don't think it sold due to the person wanted a lot for it.

I think average price is around $200.

I could be wrong, so keep your eyes on ebay.

I would also call some of the military parts guys and see what they have.

good luck! Cool

Ryan, thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye on that one. In the meantime, we found we had one on a donor jeep that needs some TLC to bring it back to life, although it's not the Oakes filter as I'd like to have, it will work.

Thanks,
