A friend has found a marking that we can't seem to explain.
It is a yellow triangle with the center being purple, about 4-1/2 inches across the flats.

and


Both are found just under the front top bow stowage bracket.
We realize that the armored tactical sign has the yellow triangle however the point should be facing up for armored, not down as we have found.

Are there any Canadian history buffs out there that have seen this before?

Can't say that I have seen those markings before, but could it be Center of Gravity marks for lifting? It seems to me that I saw other marks on US vehicles in about the same place a LOOOOOONG time ago.

Didn't some of the US Civil Defense force jeeps have markings similar to that?
